Ingredients

  • Butterball Natural Hardwood Smoked Turkey Sausage
  • 8 oz of Penne Pasta
  • 2 Tbsp oil of choice
  • 3 Tbsp of unsalted butter
  • 2 cups Heavy Cream
  • 1⁄2 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
  • 1⁄2 tsp salt
  • 1⁄2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp cajun
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • Fresh parsley (garnish)

Directions

  1. In a large pot, bring water to a rolling boil, add 2 Tbsp of salt, and cook pasta according to your liking.
  2. In a large skillet, drizzle oil over medium heat, add your smoked turkey sausage slices and cook until browned. Remove and set aside for later.
  3. In a small container, combine all your seasonings to use in the next step.
  4. In the same large skillet, melt your butter and add half of your seasoning mixture to allow the flavors to bloom. This should take about 30 seconds.
  5. Lower your heat to a medium low and add your heavy cream. As the heavy cream begins to heat up, add the remaining of your seasoning mixture.
  6. Stir in your grated Parmesan cheese until it melts and thickens up the sauce.
  7. Add your cooked Penne pasta and smoked turkey sausage to your sauce. Combine until everything is coated in the sauce.
  8. Let the pasta cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  9. Remove from heat, serve, and garnish with freshly chopped parsley. Sprinkle on some smoked paprika on top (optional).
